When what leaders say, what the organization does, and what people experience are aligned.
When your values are clear—and consistently reinforced through story and discipline—your organization becomes more aligned, more agile, and more capable of delivering on its mission.
Do you trust the decisions your employees make when unsupervised?
When the leader’s values aren’t clear employees make decisions the way they do at home, or at their last job, or the way they guess the boss wants and confusion reigns.
Are you unsure what criteria they'll use when you're not there?
Employees disengage costing up to 30% of their salaries in lost productivity. For 30 employees that’s $300,000, annually.
Employees leave costing up to 5 times their salaries to replace them. Losing five key employees could cost you $1,000,000 out of pocket, not to mention lost momentum.
Employees' indecision diminishes productivity, slows growth, and stalls innovation. Results? Lost sales, lost market share, and in worst case scenarios, the demise of the business.
Conversely, operating with clear, and aligned values enables leadership teams to strengthen their business’ culture. Clarity and integrity enhance performance from the inside out. Clear values as the foundation and storytelling as the delivery system coupled to disciplined adherence fosters a company that walks the talk. A trustworthy company - A reliable company - A company people want to work for and do business with.
When a company’s leaders are clear about the values they use to govern their behavior and the behavior of their fellow employees and are consistent in diligently adhering to those values they build trust among their employees and their peers.
People, both within and without the company, will notice this trustworthy behavior. They will begin to share stories that give witness to these examples of integrity. And people will want to work for and do business with such an exemplary culture.
Our process helps leadership teams strengthen their culture from the inside out, using values as the foundation and storytelling as the delivery system.
Disengaged employees, high turnover, and hesitation to make decisions are but a few of the problems unclear values generate. Fixing these schisms is intentional culture work, rooted in who you are and how you want to lead. Ignoring these issues and allowing them to fester undermines an organization's stability.
1. Start with the Leader
We begin with a confidential, one-on-one session with the organization’s top executive. Using our proprietary Values Assessment App, the leader identifies, prioritizes, and evaluates how fully their values are integrated into the organization’s culture. This creates clarity and sets the tone for the work ahead.
2. Listen to the Leadership Team
Next, we meet individually with each member of the executive team (COO, CFO, CMO, CIO, CHRO, etc.) to conduct the same assessment. This gives us a clear view of where alignment exists—and where it doesn’t.
3. Reconcile and Realign
We bring the leadership team together to review and reconcile their values. This facilitated session leads to agreement on a shared set of values that will serve as the organization’s operating principles—clear, behavioral standards for how decisions are made and how people are expected to act.
4. Mine for Meaningful Stories
With aligned values in hand, we move into the culture. Through conversations, interviews, and workshops, we help the team identify real stories from the organization that exemplify these values in action—stories that demonstrate integrity, commitment, innovation, or whatever matters most to your team.
5. Polish and Prepare to Share
Once the stories are surfaced, we guide leaders in refining these stories and developing the skills to tell them authentically and effectively. These aren’t marketing soundbites—these are internal culture-building tools, designed to reinforce shared values and guide behavior.
When organizations go through this process, they gain more than clarity—they build trust, alignment, and resilience. Here’s what our clients typically experience:
Improved Engagement – People understand what matters and how their work connects to something larger.
Stronger Decision-Making – Teams have a common framework for how to respond in moments of pressure or uncertainty.
Fewer Culture Clashes – Aligned values reduce friction and confusion, allowing for smoother collaboration and execution.
Increased Leadership Credibility – When leaders walk the talk and tell stories that demonstrate their values, people believe in them.
A Healthier, More Cohesive Culture – Values become more than words on a wall—they become lived behaviors that guide performance.
[Reinforce the problem] This is intentional culture work, rooted in who you are and how you want to lead. When your values are clear—and consistently reinforced through story—your organization becomes more aligned, more agile, and more capable of delivering on its mission.
