to participate in The Storytellers Channel’s Stories Matter! Workshop

What’s involved?

Workshop participants meet via Zoom Wednesday afternoons from 2:00 – 3:00 PM for four weeks under the tutelage of The Storytellers Channel’s Founding Storyteller, Gayle Turner.

He provides the four participants per workshop with his PowerPoint: Thoughts on Crafting A Story detailing structure guidance, and the process he follows for developing stories.

Participants are asked to tell their story.

Gayle provides constructive feedback and encourages the other storytellers to do the same.

Feedback is allowed in only three ways.

1. I liked X.

2. I didn’t understand X.

3. I’d like to hear more about X.

The storytellers provide a safe audience for each other.

Also, the process of offering feedback strengthens their understanding of structure aiding in the development of their stories.

Participants are encouraged to tell their story, out loud, once a day, every day between the weekly workshop meetings.

Because telling a story is a lot like recounting a movie you see in your mind’s eye.

Everything seems so clear and then you begin to speak, and transitions become muddy, the situation becomes confused and that which seemed so simple becomes complicated.

The creative process of crafting a story and learning to tell it well is one of iteration and reiteration.

So, you test different ways you can tell your story until you discover the best way.

Then What Happens?

Your performance will be video recorded and archived at StorytellersChannel.com/storytellers.

And if you’re like many of our storytellers you Rinse & Repeat.
